So now it's official, Beyonce did not sing live...
An inaugural official tells CNN: "She did not sing live. Because she didn't have time to rehearse with the Marine Band, she decided to use her recording with the Marine Band. It was all Beyoncé. She's actually a very good live singer.''
A source tells the NY Post, “Pavarotti has done it! It was freezing out and if she messed up just one note that would have been the story. She did sing. She just used a track.”
Beyonce is not the first and CERTAINLY not the only to lip sync at a big event...

Kanye West has been accused of lip-syncing on "American Idol" and "Saturday Night Live," though the artist has attributed issues to technical difficulties.
Ashlee Simpson was caught lip-syncing on "Saturday Night Live" in 2004.
Madonna was accused of lip-syncing during the Super Bowl halftime show in 2009. But in all fairness, she was dancing around quite a bit.
Britney Spears has been known to lip-sync in order to keep up with her intricate and
fast-paced dance routines. The pop star got caught in the act on her "Circus" tour in 2009.
